Intensive Hifzh Review 2008

For Hufazh only. An environment that helps our Huffadh review the entire Qur'an thoroughly, in preparation for Ramadan, assists them in implementing Tajweed rules, while at the same time offers fun activities for our youth! June 23, 2008 - August 1, 2008 June 23 - August 1, 2008 (six weeks) 9 a.m. - 3.15 p.m. (Mon - Thu) 9 a.m. - 2.15 p.m. (Friday)

Purpose

The purpose of this program is to help our Huffadh review the entire Qur’an thoroughly, in order for them to be prepared for Ramadhaan.  The six-week program will focus completely on the revision of the Qur’an, and the implementation of Tajweed rules during recitation.

Structure

1.    Review:  Students will be asked to review a portion of the Qur’an before they start the intensive program.  During the program, they will review portions of the Qur’an on a daily basis, under the guidance of a teacher.  At the end of the program, there will be an exam on the entire Qur’an.  Students will be graded on their performance before and during the program, as well as on the final exam.  At the end of the program, the top three students will receive awards.  The details of the awards will be announced at the beginning of the program (we should think about what rewards to give them from now Insha Allah).

2.    Qur’anic Arabic: Part of learning the Quran and enjoying it involves understanding its meaning. This year we have planned to add a class to teach the meaning of the most frequent words of the Quran so that students can actually understand and enjoy what they are reading.

3.    Sports: We understand that summer is a time where children are very energetic, and want to do fun activities.  We hope that our Summer Camp will make this summer a very memorable summer for our beloved students.  We will have some or all of the following activities during the summer camp and more, Insha Allah:

I.    Basketball
II.    Soccer
III.    Football
IV.    Track
V.    Team Building

Field Trips

To make the experience enjoyable for our youth, we will conduct different field trips during the course of the camp.  The field trips will be fun and exciting, and will help enhance the students’ Islamic understanding.

Typically, the field trips will take place on Wednesdays, though this may change due to weather or scheduling reasons.  To enhance this experience, we would appreciate if each parent can commit to volunteer as a chaperone on at least one of the Wednesdays.  We would also appreciate if the parents can offer their vans/cars to transport students to the field trips.  This will help reduce the costs of the field trips, make the trips safer for our students, and allow the parents to be closely involved in their child’s education.
