What to do if a death occurs?

If a death occurs in your family, Dar-Us-Salaam is here to help you through this difficult time.  Do not hesitate to call us at 301-982-9848 so that we can help you through. 

We also have a group of volunteers ready to help wash the body.

How can you help?

Dar-Us-Salaam is organizing a group of brothers and sisters to help families deal with a death.  You may be asked to help wash a body or make arrangements for the Janazah prayer and burial.  If you are interested, then please follow these steps:

• When available, attend the Janazah Workshop
• Go through the online course.
• Take the online Janazah Process proficiency exam
• Fill out the volunteer form

The Reward for helping!

“He who washes a Muslim and conceals what he sees (bad smell, appearance, etc.), Allah grants him forgiveness forty times (or for forty major sins). And he who digs for him (a grave) and buries him would be granted a reward similar to providing for him a dwelling until the Day of Resurrection. And he who shrouds him, Allah will clothe him on the Day of Resurrection from the silk garments of Jannah.” -Al-hakim, al-Bayhaqi, and others
