Policy About Children

This is a policy for children that would like to participate with their parents during the Tarawih.

POLICY FOR CHILDREN IN THE MASJID DURING TARAWIH

Welcome to the Tarawih Prayers at Dar-us-Salaam!

May you attain the barakah of the Ramadan, the month that is better than a thousand months!  May your families grow together in iman and may your fasts help you to attain nearness to Allah (swt). Ameen.

On behalf of your community, Dar us Salaam, we highly encourage you to attend the daily tarawih prayers with your families.  By coming for ibadat in the masjid with their close ones, the children will feel the beauty of Ramadan.

In order for everyone, parents and children, to gain maximum benefit from tarawih prayers, we have devised a policy for Child Care.  We pray that you will understand and cooperate with us so that everyone can achieve the maximum benefit.

Dar-us-Salaam Policy:  Any child who disrupts the congregation and the imam will not be allowed to stay in the masjid. (Disruption includes: talking, crying, laughing, any other noise, playing with others, etc…)

Age: newborn – two years

Mothers must pray WITH their child

Location: Room next to  Girls Hifzh  Classroom

*note: if the child is asleep the parent is welcome to pray in the masjid (However, as soon as the child cries, he/she must be taken out of the masjid immediately.)

Age: three – nine years

Alhamdulilah, Childcare is provided for free.  We strongly advice mothers to check their children at every opportunity.  Also, please volunteer at least once a week.

            Location: cafeteria

*note: ages 6-9 may pray, or sit quietly, next to their parent (This allowance is being made to inculcate in the children the beauty of Ramadan since they are growing older and more mature now.  However, they must be taken to childcare if they provide any disruption!)

Age: ten and above

Children MUST remain with parents in the masjid at ALL times.  No exceptions. No disruptions will be tolerated from this age group.

Please explain to your children what behavior is expected from them.

Once again, we welcome you to our masjid and this blessed month. And we pray that you will cooperate with us to make the tarawih prayer beneficial for everyone.
